Three Sketches in Quarter Tones
for 2 guitars
(1992)

Main idea of the piece lies in penetrating new sound possibilities of two guitars duet in the sphere of melody and harmony, - possibilities that arise in consequence of expanding the chromatic pitch scale by quarter tones. Both guitars are tuned traditionally, but the second one a quarter tone lower than the first, so that both instruments mutually supplement each other's scale and appear as if being one united microintervallic instrument.

In its character it is soft chamber music, pleasant to the ear and, due to microtone accords, with specific piquancy.
